Cash donations are the most typical kind
of gift provided to BI and can be put
to good use by the Board of Directors
and the management staff to address unmet
needs as they arise. Examples of how your
contribution might be used are to start
a critical new service, repair or replace
a vehicle, keep BI owned buildings well
maintained, or upgrade BI’s computer
systems for greater organizational efficiency
and effectiveness. BI accepts VISA, MasterCard,
electronic funds transfer, online donations,
or, of course, cash or check.
Honorary
& Memorial Gifts
Honor an individual or occasion with a
contribution to BI. Your thoughts and
memories of a loved one can forever, provide
great benefits to people with developmental
disabilities.

Everything from house, boat, or car to
tickets to shows and sporting events can

a person receiving services from BI.

& Securities
Donations of stocks and securities are
a great way to help while avoiding capital
gains tax on appreciated investments.

Volunteer
You can volunteer your time to help improve
the quality of life for our Becoming Independent
clients. Volunteers are needed to help
with general office work, give tours of
our facility, work side by side with our
clients as they participate in different
activities, or help out with special events.

Intern
Students with hearts, souls and skills desired at Becoming Independent to teach, advocate, and support people with disabilities and their families.
