How We Hire & Interview

Each interview typically includes a panel of two individuals from our management team. We also like to provide a tour of our facility so candidates can view what it’s like to work at BI.

Dedication

Above all, to become a part of our team, you must have passion for our purpose, which is elevating human abilities for the mutual benefit of our community. We are seeking people who want to make a positive difference in our community and the lives of others.

Job-Related Knowledge

We like to match employees in teams and roles that will set them up for career success. Each employee’s skill set can provide a new approach to a project or creating improved processes for the individuals served at BI.  For example, for those in an Instructor II or III role, experience with care-giving and an education in Psychology or Sociology are viewed as strengths.  The more information provided on your application, particularly in terms of interests and hobbies, the better.

Selection

Professional references will be called.  If a current employee refers you, we talk to them too. Our smooth hiring process ensures efficiency – to ensure we increase communication with our candidates and get candidates started in their career at BI.

Contingencies

As a licensed facility, we are required to satisfy a few contingencies for anyone hired at BI.  It is required for all staff to complete fingerprinting, which would notify our licensing of any potential barriers.  Staff drives for business purposes, which requires a clean DMV record.  A functional capacity exam is conducted for candidates to be sure that the physical demands of the job are not too strenuous.  Becoming Independent covers the costs of all of these items.  Occasionally, these contingencies can take longer to complete. The sooner they are completed, the sooner we can get you started.
