Becoming Independent’s Employment programs offer 3 service options for those who seek employment opportunities:
Vocational Services provides paid work on-site and in local businesses to individuals interested in a variety of employment opportunities, and who may be working towards competitive employment. These services focus on building fundamental and transferable skills.
Tailored Day Services provides one-on-one support for people who want to explore their vocational, volunteer, or continuing educational interests geared towards an employment outcome. Paid Internships, job exploration, education, and micro-enterprise development are among these service offerings.
Supported Employment Services assists individuals with employment preparation, job seeking services, placement, and job coaching in competitive positions throughout the business community. Services include instruction in the key skills required to secure and retain competitive employment. These skills include the development of communication and interpersonal skills, job seeking strategies, destination/travel training, on the job skill training, and pursuing opportunities for advancement and supporting changing needs in the workplace.
